Training for Vets

Projects

DLM is proud to announce a new workforce project now in development called SkillsAfterService.com.

The site will provide a wide variety of training topics and study tracks for US Veterans who are seeking new job training or help with starting or growing their own business. Topics range from business strategy and operations to marketing, business communications and important soft skills and psycho-social development lessons.

“Basically, we’re going to make sure the site has everything a vet might want to learn in terms of how to find a job or keep a job, start a business or grow a business,” says DLM co-founder and COO, CJ Niehoff.

DLM is partnering with a number of key groups that already provide best-in-class training and development opportunities specifically for veterans. DLM’s role is to take those courses online, make them available to anyone that wants to learn on their own or in an online environment. The site will also list live classroom options around the country, with classes and training sessions offered by various workforce offices, SCORE, SBDC, SBA and Chambers of Commerce offices. There is no cost to join and many of the courses will be offered free of charge. Those that are partnered with an accrediting organization will have a nominal fee, to cover costs.

This project is made possible by grants and funding by workforce, individual donors and DLM’s Give Back program that provides in kind services and consulting for causes our team cares about. SkillsAfterService is slated for launch Q2 2019. Stay tuned for updates as the project takes shape.
