MarketSmart class for veteran business owners

In what proved to be an invigorating session filled with insights, our co-founder, Julie Niehoff, recently facilitated a marketing class designed for veteran business owners in Texas. This educational initiative, conducted on February 7, 2024, was part of the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC)’s Veteran Entrepreneur Program monthly Lunch & Learn webinars.

The class, titled “MarketSmart: Simplify Your Marketing Plan,” was attended by a group of veteran entrepreneurs eager to learn innovative, straightforward marketing strategies to propel their businesses forward. The session underscored the significance of concise, impactful marketing plans that resonate with the target audience while navigating the competitive landscape efficiently.

This collaboration with Distance Learning Media (DLM) and TVC comes on the heels of a successful event called VetBizWeek in November of 2023 – a special series of classes hosted online in November 2023, during National Veteran Small Business Week. TVC program leaders, Megan Tamez and Greg Shigamasa, also contributed their expertise as presenters over the 5-day event, enriching the learning experience for attendees.

“Our ongoing collaboration with the Texas Veterans Commission is one we hold in high regard,” remarked CJ Niehoff, COO for Distance Learning Media and Director of our veteran-focused division, Skills After Service. “We share a common goal of supporting Texas military families through education and empowerment. This session was another step towards achieving that aim, and we are very pleased the positive feedback received from participants.”

The focus on simplifying marketing plans provided veteran business owners with actionable strategies and tools to enhance their marketing efforts. Julie’s presentation was not just about theory; it was grounded in practical tips that can be applied immediately, regardless of the business stage or industry.

“We’re looking forward to doing more with the Texas Veterans Commission,” added Niehoff, a testament to our ongoing commitment to supporting veteran entrepreneurs through education, mentorship, and resources tailored to their unique needs.
