DLM provides a full curriculum of small business classes for the City of Austin Economic Development Division. 35+ titles across four main categories – Marketing, Money Management, Organizational Development and Human Resources and the topics are designed to help small business owners, nonprofit and creative professionals, freelancers, entrepreneurs and anyone interested in learning more. Our Austin instructors are world-class with more than 90% 5-star ratings and profoundly positive feedback from participants.
Anyone completing 6 DLM classes in the program will earn a City of Austin Business Skills Certificate, presented in a public ceremony with other local businesses and city leaders present. Those in the nonprofit sector can opt to earn a City of Austin Nonprofit Skills Certificate. There is a 2024 ceremony scheduled for April 29 during the city’s kick-off of Small Business Week. To find classes on the schedule, simply scroll to the bottom of our homepage and find a topic you like.
There are in-person classes hosted by the City in our new Small Business Training Room, Suite 300. Once a month, we also offer a virtual night class, usually the first Wednesday of the month. Classes are $19.99. Veterans and military families can use promo code vetbizskills for 50% off the fee.
For anyone unable to attend an in-person class, the City is willing to provide a virtual accommodation. So if there is an issue with transportation, child care, mobility, etc participants can email [email protected] to request virtual access to any in-person class, starting March 19, 2024.
